Safety in the Yard

We want you to enjoy your time at Bar Pasture Stables, so making sure everyone is safe is paramount. We have a number of yard guidelines that protect riders, families and horses alike:

Car Park

Car Park

To start with, we ask everyone to park in the car park in front of the arena to prevent the mingling of cars, children and horses.

First Aid

First Aid

Laura is a fully qualified equine-specific first aider and living on site means she is always on hand to help.

Insurance

Licensed and Fully Insured

All riding school ponies and horses have been vetted, and the riding school is fully licensed and insured.

Hats

Hats

Hats must be worn at all times if mounted! We have brand new, top of the range hats, and ask that if you bring your own it must meet British standards of BS EN 1384-1997 and BS PAS 015-1998 and kite marked. Body protectors are not compulsory, but can be worn at parent’s discretion.

Dogs

Dogs

We would prefer if you do not bring your dogs into the yard, as they may distract the horses in the lessons.

Small Children

Small Children

Children who are not riding are welcome, but may not understand the practicalities of the yard and being around horses. Please keep an eye on your little ones and keep them under your supervision.
